The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received inquiries on advice to Bahamians in Florida in the face of the threat of a hurricane.
Some students have been told to evacuate their campuses.
Bahamasair has advised that there are possibly two flights left out of Orlando: Monday, 7 October, and Tuesday, 8 October 2024. Students should take advantage of these commercial flights. The alternatives are the ports of Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Citizens should act immediately to follow the instructions of the local authorities, including the order to evacuate.
The Consul General's office in Miami stands ready to assist anyone in distress.
