Citizens and Residents
 

Persons who believe that they are wrongfully dismissed or that their fundamental rights as employees are being or have been infringed upon may seek advice on or assistance with the resolution of these issues from the Conciliation Section of the Department of Labour.


Eligibility 

Anyone who believes (s)he has a legitimate labour dispute can access the assistance of the Conciliation Section.

Process 
  1. Visit or contact the offices of the Conciliation Section of the Department of Labour via telephone.  Please note that there is no need to make an appointment prior to visiting the office, in this instance. 
  2. Give as much detail of the dispute issue as possible.  Based on the information provided, the Conciliation Officer would ascertain and advise whether there’s a legitimate trade dispute.  In the case of a legitimate dispute as advised by the Conciliation Officer, the complainant should:

This varies depending on the nature of the dispute and how cooperative both parties are.
Deadline 

Persons are free to seek assistance on any labour issue, once it is within 1 year of the occurrence of the matter.
