Getting Married in The Bahamas

Weddings & Honeymoons

For some couples, honeymooning on Nassau/Paradise Island just isn’t enough. They also want to be married in paradise. Tour operators, resorts and the tourist offices are available to assist you with planning everything from a simple wedding to a lavish reception.

Obtaining a marriage license in The Bahamas

To be wed on our islands, couples must be here for 24 hours prior to applying for a marriage license. The marriage license must be obtained at least one day prior to the wedding. Birth certificates and a notarized affidavit are required; if appropriate, you’ll also need divorce papers, a former spouse’s death certificate or parental consent, if under 18.

The Out Islands

Whether you are planning an intimate beach ceremony for two (three if you count the minister), or a lavish celebration of friends and family to share in the moment, The Out Islands of The Bahamas are the dream location for a perfect wedding and honeymoon. Whichever one you choose, The Out Islands can accommodate your every need.
