The CITES Permit allows persons to import or export orchids.
There are no eligibility criteria for this service.
- Applicant completes and submits the Application for a Permit to Import Orchids.
- Applicant pays the relevant fee.
- Applicant submits phyto-sanitary and CITES import/export certificate to an Agricultural Officer or Customs Officer at the port of entry or departure
Note:
- For exports: Shipment must be accompanied by a CITES export permit and a Phyto-sanitary certificate from The Bahamas.
- For imports: Shipment must be accompanied by CITES export permit and Phyto-sanitary Certificate from country of export and a CITES Permit from The Bahamas.

Application will be processed within two business days.
There are no deadlines associated with this service.
BS$10.00 processing fee and BS$5.00 faxing fee.
Note:
- For persons outside of The Bahamas, a money order or draft can be sent via courier service.
- Personal cheques will not be accepted.
