Note:
- Hazard and duty / overtime allowances have been incorporated into the basic salary figures.
- Tests will be administered at the proficiency points in specific scales.
- Examinations will be administered to assess suitability for promotion from Sergeant to Inspector. This will be to determine knowledge of policing, police legislation, general knowledge, supervisory ability, etc...
- Serving officers who entered the force at the rank of Inspector should be tested before promotion to Chief Inspector. Examination should particularly assess the officer's knowledge of policing, etc...
- Examination will be administered to assess suitability for promotion from Chief Inspector to Assistant Superintendent. They will be similar to (3), but at a higher level. Officers should also have taken a general duty course in The United Kingdom.
- Examination will be administered to test suitability for promotion from Chief Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner. This will be a very high level examination and interviews should be conducted by a panel consisting of:
- Secretary to The Cabinet
- Police Service Commission
- Commissioner of Police
