Based on Wikipedia, Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. A project is a temporary endeavor, having a defined beginning or start and end (usually constrained by date, but can be by funding or deliverables), undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives, usually to bring about beneficial change or added value.
The Bahamas National Geographic Information Systems Centre has the necessary skills to provide assistance in the area of Project Management in general and more specifically Project management as it relates to GIS projects.
Governmental agencies who are considering planning and implementing projects that may have a GIS Component are asked to contact the Centre at 326-8536 or via e-mail to bngisc@bahamas.gov.bs or via fax at 326-8535 for technical assistance. This is to minimize if not eliminate duplication of effort and unnecessary expenditure of government funds.
