The Government recognises the tremendous benefits that can be gained from competition in the cellular market. To ensure that these benefits could be realised as quickly as possible, the Government has appointed a Cellular Liberalisation Task Force (‘the Task Force’) which has responsibility for the coordination and oversight of the process for the award of the second mobile licence.
Members of the Task Force are:
Ruth Millar, CMG | Chairperson |
Rowena Bethel | Vice-Chairperson |
James Campbell | |
Antonio Stubbs | |
Danya Parker-Wallace | |
Michelle Grell-Bereaux | |
Christine Thompson | |
Ryan Albury |
PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory (Bahamas) Ltd has also been engaged as professional advisors to the Task Force. Charles Russell Speechlys LLP is providing legal advisory services to the Task Force. However, legal counsel on international trade matters was also provided by Hogan Lovells law firm and Mr. Mark Sills (Trade Consultant to the Government of The Bahamas).
