The Bahamas Agricultural Health and Food Safety Authority (BAHFSA) is responsible for the importation of pets into The Bahamas. To apply you must first register with Click2Clear at http://www.click2clear.gov.bs/.

Once you have successfully registered, follow the following three-part steps:

  1. Email click2clear@bahamas.gov.bs and request for your “password and username to be activated in order to apply for a pet permit with BAHFSA.”
  2. You will receive an email with your password. Click the log in here button at https://bahfsabahamas.com/epermitting-for-imports
  3. Reset your password by typing in your username and the password you received and then changing it to the one you want.

Once you receive your permit, give it to your veterinarian and request a veterinary certificate to accompany the permit. The veterinary certificate must be dated 48 hours prior to embarkation.

Eligibility 

There are no eligibility criteria for this service.

Process 
  1. Applicant completes and submits Application to Import Domestic Animal Form.
  2. Applicant pays the relevant fees.
  3. After approval, the applicant is issued with the Dog Permit.
  4. The applicant will be given a Veterinarian Form (AGR/VS/1A Form) which must be completed by a registered Veterinarian 24 hours prior to travel.
  5. Applicant submits the Dog Permit and Completed Veterinarian Form to an Agricultural Officer and Customs Officer at the port of entry or departure.
