A Marine Mammal Import Permit is required to allow the importation of any marine mammal species into The Bahamas. Citizens or local companies authorized to hold marine mammals will be interested in obtaining this type of permit.
- Proof that the marine mammal is legally exported from its country of origin.
- Proof that the marine mammal is in good health.
- Proof that import of the marine mammal is approved under the Animal Health Act.
- Complete the relevant application form.
- Submit completed application form along with the required supporting documents to the Department of Marine Resources.
- Pay the required fee.
- Permit will then be issued to the applicant.
