Organisations interested in finding out about data protection and how the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner executes its duties have the option of requesting presentations on data protection. The Commissioner undertakes these presentations with the aim of:
- Conveying the Commissioner’s thinking and guidance on data protection issues to assist bodies in complying with the legislation.
- Helping organisations identify issues they need to consider in relation to data protection.
- Obtaining and identifying views and concerns from organisations and other interested groups on data protection issues.
- Providing information regarding data protection.
- Maintaining and developing data protection networks relationships.
- Assisting in formulating codes of best practices in relation to data protection matters.
Any organisation can access this.
Interested organisations need only to write to the Data Protection Commissioner formally requesting the presentation and identifying:
- The number and responsibilities of the persons who will be attending the presentation.
- The expected duration of the presentation.
- The details of any other persons who may be making a presentation at the same engagement.

There is no application form for this service.
No supporting documents are required for this service.
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner will issue an acknowledgement to you within 2 working days of receiving your request. The Data Protection Commissioner must be notified at least 14 days prior to the proposed date of the engagement.There are no fees associated with this service.
