Overview of the Ministry of Public Works is located on John F Kennedy Drive, New Providence, The Bahamas. 

 

The Hon. Clay Glennford Sweeting serves as Minister of Public Works & Family Island Affairs.

Boards or Committees have been established to support some of the aforementioned statutes.  These include:

  • The Professional Architects Board
  • The Professional Engineers Board, and
  • The Town Planning Committee.

With regard to the Straw Market Authority, the Bahamas Electricity Corporation, the Bahamas Water & Sewerage Corporation and Bahamasair Holdings Ltd., these entities are all managed on a daily basis by Boards.  The Straw Market Authority, the Bahamas Electricity Corporation and the Bahamas Water & Sewerage Corporation are established as statutory authorities/corporations sole, while Bahamasair Holdings Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act.
