Before anyone can operate as a Notary Public, he / she must first be licensed to notarise documents. These licences are granted by the Office of the Attorney General, and must be renewed annually.
In order to qualify for this, persons must be:
- Attorneys or counsel of the supreme court.
- Existing Notaries Public (in the case of renewals).
Warning to Notaries:
Revocation of your licence shall occur if you are not in compliance with the Notaries Act, and the public will be notified of the revocation.
In order to access this eService the applicant must possess a NIB number and a debit or credit card.
New Applicants:
- Access the Notary eService.
- Complete the application form which includes uploading a copy of your Call Certificate.
- Make online payment of BS$125.
- Print your Notary Licence.
Renewals:
- Access the Notary eService.
- Complete the application form which includes uploading a copy of your Call Certificate.
- Make online payment of BS$250.
- Print your Notary Licence.

As soon as payment has been completed and processed, the Applicant will receive a link in his/her email; login to the portal, and print the Notary Licence.
Applications must be done by December 31st each year.
The fees are BS$125 for new applications and BS$250 for renewals. Please note that when applying for renewals, all outstanding arrears must be paid in full.
