The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture hosts several annual summer programmes.   Each year, thousands of our young people are out of school for summer break.  The Division of Youth, in collaboration with the Sports and Culture Divisions of the Ministry host a major four week fun-filled programme.  Young persons between the ages of five to fifteen are engaged in organised, character building and dynamic programmes, based in schools and churches throughout New Providence and the Family Islands.  

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture uses this as an opportunity to provide employment opportunities for suitable persons during the summer period.  Persons interested in a teaching or supervisor position must apply to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.


Eligibility 

Any private sector organisation with a valid business licence.  Note, home based offices are not eligible for this programme.

Process 
  1. Interested persons may collect application forms at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, or download the form by clicking the link below.
  2. The applicant must fill out and submit the application form to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.  Family Island applicants may submit forms to the Family Island administrator.  Be sure to identify the summer programme you wish to be employed in.  
  3. All applications are reviewed before being passed to the relevant department responsible for the summer programme selected.
  4. The Department will review the application to ensure an appropriate match between skill required and personnel is achieved.   
  5. Suitable candidates will be short listed and may be may be contacted to attend an interview.  
  6. The Department will contact successful candidate to inform them of their reporting officer as well as the start date and location of the summer programme where they will be employed.

Turn-around time 

Summer Employment applications are processed within one month.
Deadline 

Applications must be submitted by May 30th annually.
