Each year, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, hosts various awards in honour of individuals who would have excelled in designated areas. Ceremonies and honours have a value for the ministry that extends well beyond the individuals being recognised. Each award ceremony publicly identifies "national heroes”, individuals and groups who embody the nation’s core values. This serves as an example and inspires others to do the same. Honourees are presented to the public through the award ceremonies outlined below:
